New additions for Fall

Every season, it's always a challenge to seamlessly transition my wardrobe. For me, it's very important to feel myself in my clothing - which often means I usually have a "uniform" or two. It's important to wear your clothes and not have your clothing wear you. Figure out your style for the season and then change it up with alternating basics and bold accessories. Because I grew up in the south, winter is always a challenge for me. In Mississippi, you can pretty much wear your summer clothes with a jacket. But, in Chicago, it's an entirely new wardrobe. And, if you're not careful in winter, it's far too easy to look sloppy and bulky. Pinterest has been super helpful to me in finding inspiration for the season ahead. I then sell most of my clothes from the past season and hone in on what to add to the current. I'm SO excited about my recent purchases for fall.
From top to bottom: Marc Jacobs leather leggings, MINKPINK Have a Yarn Cardigan, Vince Wool Cashmere Blanket Coat, and Sorel Tivoli Snow Boots. All purchases made on GILT.

Our Engagement Party - 9.29.12

I'm just getting around to posting pictures from our engagement party September 29th. It was an affair to remember - a celebration we will never ever forget. We are truly blessed with the best friends in the whole world! Bourbon punch, fried pickles and pimento cheese added a little southern flair. While cocktail attire, gold and white balloons and engagement ring mini donuts created a super festive and fun space. The engagement ring donuts were brilliant! There was a breath-taking arrangement by Foxglove. Usually sexy isn't a word I would use to describe flowers...but these flowers were totally sexy and gorgeous! And, of course the highlight of the night was a photo booth (with props!) created by John and Dayne. Thanks to all for celebrating with us and making this night super special. If you can't already tell by our glowing faces, we are pretty stoked to be getting hitched.

Chanel Hula Hoop Bag

Will this be the new IT bag? I think it's brilliant. However, I may lose my mind if I get stuck walking behind a massive hula hoop bag on Michigan Avenue. This could be worse than the double stroller.
